Guests are encouraged to pack their costumes in addition to their swimsuits. Families will be able to show their Halloween flare during the Costume Contests held at 7:30 p.m. each Friday and Saturday in the Grand Lobby. Twenty-five dollar retail gift cards will be awarded to costume winners in two categories: children under the age of 12, over 12, and a $100 gift certificate for a future night stay will be given to the winning family. Upon entering the Boo Harbor Shipwreck Trail, guests will experience a “just a boo bit scary” shipwreck of the SS Great Wolf with Captain Nick and Pearl the Pirate Princess from 5 – 7 p.m. each Friday and Saturday. Those who dare journey through the SS Great Wolf will receive Halloween treats and Frito-Lay snacks and enjoy a carnival where children can play Halloween-themed games, monster bean bag toss, pick an eyeball, ring toss, go fish and can smash for a chance to win Halloween novelty items. The Trick-or-Treat Trail is open to the general public for a fee of $2 per child under the age of 12. Of course the month of October would not be complete without pumpkins. Pumpkin Decorating Contests will take place on Saturdays starting October 14, in the Crew Club activity room, where decorations will be supplied. Gift cards to the resort’s restaurants and retail shops will be awarded to the three children with the most creative pumpkins during the 4 p.m. judging on Saturday. In addition, Crew Club will host child-friendly Halloween movies with popcorn provided on Fridays from 3 – 5 p.m. Complimentary “spooky” cookie decorating will take place on Saturdays from 2 – 3 p.m. in the lobby. A ghostly getaway to Blue Harbor Resort starts at $169 per night and will include Halloween activities and waterpark passes. On October 29, 30 and 31, families can stay at Blue Harbor Resort starting at $89 per night in a Family Suite, which will include waterpark passes.
