Instructor Lead Activities

Program Overview

Bring the past into the future with the Blue Harbor Techno Hunt! Teams share fun and creative photos & videos as they explore the grounds and face challenges around the Blue Harbor Resort. As they navigate using the exclusive interactive map and iPads, teams build camaraderie through collaboration, strategy and creativity!

Our professional emcee kicks off the event setting an upbeat tone before instructing teams on how to use the provided technology in order to win. Each team receives team packet, iPad with appropriate apps, and a digital map with links to designated locations. Once they complete a successful “test” photo, they’re off on their adventure! Through our private event app, our headquarters communicates (and banters) with teams as they highlight team accomplishments, transmit real-time challenges and trivia questions (customizable), and updates the scores. HQ awards points for creativity in photos, correctly solving clues, and completing bonus challenges.

As the hunt winds down, teams reconvene to share stories of their adventure. Our emcee welcomes everyone back and formally recaps the event. After a final tally, the team with the most points receives accolades from their peers and honor as the most tech-savvy Blue Harbor Resort team!

  • Real-Time Challenges and Trivia – at any time after the adventure is launched, teams may receive pop-up challenges and trivia questions from HQ, such as using supplies in your backpack, create a sculpture of your team MVP. The best ideas have to start somewhere! In Shark Pool, teams compete to design the next red-hot gadget or must-have gizmo to replace or improve a product your company currently produces, a process it employs or to make the world a better place.  Teams are assigned unique and creative parameters, and are challenged to create a marketing plan, budget and sketches of their prototype.

Our emcee gathers the teams together, describes the task at hand and selects team captains. Each team receives a box of supplies used to design their unique invention or contraption in the allotted amount of time.

Developing the idea and creating the prototype are just the beginning!  Teams also design a pitch and present their idea to our panel of savvy Shark Investors, who will decide which ideas sink or swim. Imagine your team is stranded on a deserted island with seemingly no way out. Strewn about are remnants from past inhabitants, debris from the ocean. You discover pieces of a treasure map and clues that may lead to a way home. But you must work together to get off the island in under 60 minutes before the typhoon hits!
Loosely based on the popular Room Escape experiences, Trapped in the Tropics turns your team’s table into an island upon which they are stranded. In the center is a treasure chest containing the supplies necessary to successfully escape. Alas, the treasure chest is locked and the key or code to the lock is contained in the puzzles for your team to solve. Various props, clues and cues create a treasure map directing your team to the missing key or code.
Perhaps there is a hint under a palm tree. Sea shells contain mysteries of the seas…maybe they can help solve this mystery???
Our emcee and event staff keep teams on track to complete the task at hand. They have 60 minutes to get off the island, and in the spirit of no man left behind, all teams must complete the task for anyone to truly succeed.

Ingredients are chopped, assembled and cooked (if allowed) at team tables. Their marketing plan comes to life as the PR team defines their target market, decorates their truck, creates a logo, and a catchy jingle.
