Lakeside Activities at Blue Harbor Resort
If you’re not from around here, you might not know what makes Sheboygan’s stretch of Lake Michigan so special. Aside from the beauty, we treasure the wind and the waves, which combine to make Sheboygan a popular place for both surfing and sailing. In fact, Sheboygan is home to one of only four U.S. Olympic training centers in the nation.
Blue Harbor partners with local vendors to bring you all the access to the water that you could wish for, even if you’re a novice. In season, you can kayak and canoe in the protected, scenic waters of Sheboygan River, or venture out into the lake if the conditions are right. In the summer, vendors offer stand-up paddleboard rentals right from the beach in Blue Harbor’s backyard. If you’ve never tried this popular and growing sport, this is your chance; they even offer lessons! And yes, they rent wetsuits, too.
If you’re drawn to bigger wave action, let our staff refer you to EOS Surf & Outdoor, where you can rent surfboards and get more information about where the best breaks are. In the winter, they can also help you rent snowshoes and cross-country skis.
