Fall Weekend Events at Blue Harbor Resort

The season of pumpkins, football, and all things spooky is OFFICALLY here! This weekend we welcome the first day of autumn and we are ready! We’ve been waiting to share the ultimate fall weekend for your stay at Blue Harbor this year, and there’s a lot of events and fall-themed things to cover so let’s dive in!

The ULTIMATE Oktoberfest: Great Lakes edition!

Get ready for Oktoberfest festivities galore- a whole weekend worth in fact! Oktoberfest Great Lakes at Blue Harbor Resort kicks off on Friday, October 4th in On The Rocks Bar and Grill at 7pm. In traditional Oktoberfest fashion, there will be LIVE polka music performed by the Sugar Bush Boys until 10pm that night! Additionally, Oktoberfest lovers will want to come dressed for the occasion in traditional attire like Dirndls and lederhosen for two reasons: one attendee will leave the night’s festivities as the recipient of a free overnight stay at Blue Harbor which will be announced at the end of the night, and two, 3 Sheeps Brewing Company’s Oktoberfest will be on tap as long as supplies last, in addition to other 3 Sheeps brews, domestic beer, and a selection of Oktoberfest concessions. All things Oktoberfest will be present at this kick-off night of a weekend packed with beer and blue views of Lake Michigan! Speaking of 3 Sheeps, the festivities don’t end Friday! Here is your ultimate itinerary for the weekend of Oktoberfest Great Lakes:

Friday, October 4th: 7pm – 10pm Enjoy Oktoberfest Great Lakes with beer, polka music, concessions, and mingling with lakeside views in the Grand Ballroom at Blue Harbor Resort and Conference Center.

Saturday, October 5th: 11am – 6pm Esslingen Fest at 3 Sheeps Brewing Company. Did you know that Sheboygan is the sister city in Germany? You do now! Esslingen and Sheboygan have a friendship that has lasted nearly 60 years, and has only grown stronger as the years pass by.

Esslingen is located in southern Germany on the river Neckar. It’s population of 92,722 is nearly comparable to the city of Sheboygan which currently resides around 49,609. The city has a very long history, it’s roots taking us back to 866 when it was then known as Hetsilinga and a part of the Roman Empire, but it wasn’t until January 16th, 1967 that Esslingen and Sheboygan partnered to become sisters. Since then, Esslingen has planted a Maple Tree (the Wisconsin State tree) to commemorate 50 years of friendship, and Sheboygan honors it’s sister with Esslingen Fest, as well as a park sharing the city’s name. The festival will keep you busy with a brat fry, more beer of course, raffles, live polka music, contests, prizes, and more. The festival ends at 6pm but the festivities sure don’t! Keep the beer flowing with more live music from Hearthfire starting at 5:30pm, and then The Buffalo Joe Band at 8:00pm!

Sunday, October 6th 7am – 11am: Breakfast & Bloodys in The Beacon Restaurant! After a weekend at Oktoberfest, what’s a little hair of the dog to start your morning? The Beacon is serving a packed breakfast buffet complete with Bloody Mary’s for $10 each. The lineup of Wisconsin Cheddar Cheese, Pancakes, Fresh Toast, Waffles, Potato Wedges, Bacon, Sausage, Cereal, Yogurt and Granola, Cottage Cheese, Fruit, and assorted Danish and breakfast sweets will keep you at the table all morning long to ease into your day.

The ULTIMATE Spooky Season Celebration!

The next fall event taking place at Boo Harbor this year is the spooky event of the year: Boo Harbor! Watch the Blue Harbor Resort transform into a haunted hotel during October weekends starting the 11th and ending the 25th.  Roam the halls solving the riddles of the haunted resort, collecting trick-or-treat candy as you go. And keep track of how many skeletons you see, legend has it the hotel is full of them in places you wouldn’t even expect. This year, Boo Harbor is haunted by ghosts and ghouls of shipwrecks on Lake Michigan; pirates, mermaids, and more are restless for your check in arrival. Boo Harbor is a scary good time for families with kids as well as adults. Friday’s during Boo Harbor the kids won’t want to miss the Boo Harbor Kids Halloween Party in the Peninsula room. The kiddos will for sure want to wear their costumes while they boogie at the monster mash dance party, decorate festive cookies and crafts, and of course there will be a costume contest as well! Tickets for the kids are being sold via Eventbrite, click here to purchase your tickets! Now onto the adults, the Shipwreck Soiree in On The Rocks Bar & Grill takes place on Saturdays during Boo Harbor and is the Halloween Party for adults complete with a nautically-themed bar, and festive Halloween décor as well as specialty drinks. And it wouldn’t be a true Halloween party without a costume contest, so come with your best costume, best couple or group costumes, or best shipwreck theme for the chance to win gift cards to Blue Harbor Resort. Monster mash around to live music performed by the band Tango en Fuego performing a large range of genres of music.

Boo Harbor weekends are the followings dates: October 11th-13th, 18th-20th, & 25th-27th.

The Kids Halloween Party will be Fridays October 11th, 18th, and 25th from 5pm m- 8pm,

While the adults only Shipwreck Soiree will be Saturdays the 12th, 19th, & 26th from 7pm – 10pm.

Spooky season fun doesn’t end with Boo Harbor. There’s plenty of family friendly and scary fun to be had around Sheboygan this year. Visit our events page by clicking here to see some of the upcoming events in the Malibu of the Midwest.
