EMAGINE SHEBOYGAN NEAR BLUE HARBOR RESORT 50TH BLOG REVEALING FALL FUN

Emagine Fall Fun in Sheboygan

Since moving to Sheboygan, Wisconsin for work a year ago, I’ve learned a lot about this area and how special it is. Living in the Malibu of the Midwest has been everything I dreamed it would be and more. Not only have I been able to explore this stunning area, meet the amazingly kind locals, and discover some truly unique businesses, but I’ve been able to share that through my blog, Emagining Sheboygan. I am so grateful for all of the experiences this job and blog have provided, as well as all the amazing people I’ve been able to meet and connect with since starting my work here. In honor of that and to thank everyone who have supported my blog over the past year, I am excited to kick off the start of the fall season by revealing a new promotion going live this week so that you and your family can come visit Sheboygan this autumn and experience all the places and businesses I recommend yourself!

If you haven’t been here since the beginning, my name is Em, and one thing most people know about me is I love summer and autumn!!! A lot. Although I’m always sad to say goodbye to the summer season in just a few weeks, I do love when the leaves start to change, the air gets crispy (but not too chilly) and spooky season is upon us. Halloween is my all-time favorite holiday, so much so that I can usually tell you how many days it is until Halloween year round. As the summer comes to a close, I’m excited to present all of the fall fun Sheboygan has just around the bend to get you excited and motivated to make a weekend fall trip to this autumnal wonderland!

Autumn Hikes

Speaking of an autumnal wonderland, imagine waking up and getting outside to enjoy the views of Lake Michigan with a warm cup of coffee in hand, and soaking up the view of the golden leaves that line the beaches. There’s nothing quite like that feeling of fall in Sheboygan. It’s this wonderful paradox where summer and fall get to meet in the most obscure and beautiful way. Hence why this time of year is so special to me, it’s both simultaneously summer beaches and autumn leaves. Fresh apples and hot beverages, scents of the fresh lakeside air and wafts of sweet cinnamon, the sun on your face and your comfiest sweater. I especially love time spent outdoors during this time of year; the temperature is a perfect, the scenery is starting to change, and there are so many ways to enjoy nature! The first way is by going on strolls up the beach or hiking in Kohler-Andrae State Park. The winding boarded trail sloping up and down the sand dunes at the park offers breath-taking views and will make you feel as if you’re on the seaside. It’s easy to spend a whole day exploring the park, and considering there is a nature center with indoor bathrooms, information on the park and its wildlife, and plenty of places to picnic, you won’t want to cut this trip for anything! This state park is one of my absolute favorites, and as much as I adore visiting for a beach day during the summer, going on a fall hike here just cannot be beat. The best part is that Kohler-Andrae is just a 16-minute drive from Blue Harbor Resort and the main part of town. Start your day getting breakfast and coffee at the resort before hopping in the car for a short and scenic drive to these magnificent sandy dunes. You won’t regret it, I promise!

River Fest | Sept. 21 | 11 am - 5 pm

River Fest is an annual festival that takes place in September on the Riverfront Boardwalk near Downtown Sheboygan. This event is SO! FUN! I got to attend my first River Fest last year, and I loved every second of it! Local vendors line the boardwalk selling their unique products, all the restaurants along the river walk are open, you can even participate in special activities for free! This year, Master of the Universe and Buffalo Joe are providing live music on the riverfront, and there will be a boardwalk fashion show in between the two bands performances. I really enjoyed walking around, discovering new small businesses and supporting them, indulging in the yummy and fun food and drinks, and the live bands were probably my favorite part! I am so excited to attend River Fest again this year- click here to see the full River Fest 2024 schedule!

Oktoberfest Great Lakes

One event I am counting down the days to this fall is new this year and I’m pleased to bring you the first teaser info about this event: Oktoberfest Great Lakes at Blue Harbor Resort. This weekend-long event is right on the lakefront at the resort and packed with festivities. To attend Oktoberfest Great Lakes, you’ll need to purchase an attendance button on Eventbrite (coming soon, so stay tuned!). The celebration kicks off Friday night on October 4th with live polka music by the Green Bay-based Sugar Bush Boys! The immensely popular (not to mention probably sold-out by then) 3 Sheeps Brewery Oktoberfest brew will be available for purchase. Participants of Oktoberfest are HIGHLY encouraged to dress up in traditional Oktoberfest attire, for there may be a prize incentive for those who do. On Saturday, October 5th, 3 Sheeps Brewery is hosting Esslingen Fest, which celebrates Sheboygan’s sister city in Germany, so we’ll be running shuttles all day to get you over there to enjoy it. You absolutely won’t want to miss out on this event, between the lakeside views and the immaculate brews, so mark your calendars and sign up for Blue Harbor’s newsletter to be among the first to get updates. Boo Harbor 2024

As I previously mentioned, Halloween is my absolute favorite holiday, so as you can imagine, I’m thrilled to share that Boo Harbor is taking place again October 11th – 27th at Blue Harbor Resort! This event is one of my favorites because it combines all of my favorite parts about Halloween from childhood, as well as my favorite ways to celebrate as an adult. Pack your best costumes, because we have costume contests for all ages! For children, there are three categories each announcing their own winner; ages 6 and under, ages 7-12, as well as a family group winner. Parents and adults won’t want to miss out on the Shipwreck Soiree taking place in On The Rocks Bar and Grill during the Saturdays of Boo Harbor. The Soiree includes live music, Halloween-themed cocktails, and a costume contest with categories for best costume, best couple or group, and best shipwreck theme. I don’t want to give too much more about Boo Harbor 2024 away quite yet, so this is the extent of teaser I’m going to leave you with now (so you can start planning your costumes), but stay tuned for more details coming soon!
