Nourish offers this experiential learning opportunity to teach participants: where our food originates from, how food is grown, how to have healthy soil, what sustainable farming practices are possible, and how to prepare a healthy meal. This immersion learning takes place on either the Nourish farm or another local farm, ending in our demonstration kitchen preparing and enjoying a farm-to-table meal together – and with another local nonprofit (such as clients at the Salvation Army or Bridgeway & Beyond). These farm-to-table tours are popular with small (up to 12 people) and large groups (13-35) as a team-building opportunity. Fees apply.

Farm-to-School programs (from school gardens to Good Food Club) are available to schools and youth-serving agencies (such as Boys & Girls Club or YMCA programs). Research has consistently shown that eating healthier at a younger age can help prevent the onset of many diet-related diseases. Since most of our eating habits are developed at a young age, Nourish works with local schools to deliver nutrition education so the students have better success in eating healthier as they age. By partnering with area school administrators, teachers and food-service personnel, Nourish Farms aims impact kids’ nutritional knowledge, food choices and eating behaviors – with the end goal of helping them avoid chronic disease in the future.
